About Me

It’s About You, But You Might Be Wondering About Me.

The foundation of effective counselling is a strong, trusting relationship. Feeling comfortable and safe with your therapist is essential. So, it makes sense that you’d want to know a little about the person you’re thinking of sharing your story with.

My path to becoming a counsellor was shaped by a fundamental belief in the strength and resilience of every human being. I have always been drawn to people’s stories, to the unique and often hidden challenges we all face.
I saw that what people needed most wasn’t advice or solutions, but a genuine, supportive space where they could feel truly heard and accepted, without condition.

This understanding led me to the person-centred approach, and it’s a philosophy that resonates deeply with who I am, both as a counsellor and as a person.

It’s About You, But You Might Be Wondering About Me.

You might be wondering what those words actually mean for you in our sessions.

Simply put, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. You have within you a natural capacity for growth and healing. Sometimes, that capacity gets clouded by life’s difficulties, by the expectations of others, or by critical self-talk.

My role is not to analyse you, diagnose you, or tell you what to do. Instead, I will:

Listen Deeply

I will offer my full attention and work to understand your world from your perspective.

Offer a Safe Harbour

Our sessions are a confidential, non-judgmental space where no feeling is too big or too small. You can bring your fears, your confusion, your anger, or your sadness—all of it is welcome here.

Walk Alongside You:

I am not a guide who leads from the front, but a companion who walks with you. We will explore your experiences together, at your pace.

My Commitment to You

I am committed to providing a service that is ethical, professional, and compassionate.
I hold full professional indemnity insurance, adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, and regularly undertake continuing professional development to support my practice. Your safety and trust are my highest priorities.

A Little About Me Outside the Counselling Room

When I’m not in the therapy room, you might find me walking in one of Glasgow’s many beautiful parks, enjoying a quiet moment with a book, or appreciating the city’s vibrant music scene. These things help me stay grounded and connected, so I can bring my full, present self to our work together.

Taking the Next Step

Reading about me is one thing; feeling a connection is another. The best way to know if we might work well together is to have a conversation.

I invite you to contact me for a free, no-obligation 15-minute chat.
It’s a chance for you to ask any questions, for us to hear each other’s voices, and for you to get a sense of whether this feels like the right space for you.

You have already taken the brave first step by looking for support.
I would be honoured to hear your story.
